Brighton Girls Camp

Brighton Girls Camp is a mountain adventure camp for all young women (ages 11-14) at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon.  Run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its purpose is to strengthen  young women’s ​testimonies of Jesus Christ, and their identity as daughters of God.

Program Coordinator (PC)

Salary: $8,500

Requirements

  • Brighton experience required

  • Requires patience and the ability to communicate effectively with tothers

  • Skill in delegation of tasks

Overview

  • The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in planning, organizing, and leading an effective, spiritually enriching camp experience for approximately 180 girls each week. Working closely with two Assistant Program Coordinators, the Brighton Presidency, Council Members, and Senior Missionaries, she ensures that every aspect of camp runs smoothly, safely, and joyfully.

  • Reporting to and counseling with the camp leadership, the Program Coordinator leads the effort in planning weekly activities that are both fun and faith-centered, all while staying within budget. She is responsible for training and supporting both staff and campers, providing guidance and counsel when challenges arise, and making tough decisions during challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Camp Planning & Leadership
    Organize and oversee weekly camp programs and activities that inspire and engage young women, ensuring an effective and enjoyable camp experience.

  • Staff Support & Training
    Assist with recruiting and training staff, fostering a positive, collaborative team environment. Help counselors and specialists prepare and understand key camp elements like TNT Boards, Unit Prayer, and Family Home Evening.

  • Personal Example
    Exhibit enthusiasm, kindness, patience, and love in all dealings with campers, staff, and leadership.

  • Counseling & Problem Solving
    Listen attentively and provide direction and support to staff and campers facing difficulties, promoting unity and spiritual growth.

  • Spiritual Teaching
    Prepare and teach gospel lessons that strengthen faith and testimony among campers and staff.

  • Team Collaboration
    Work in partnership with camp leadership, including Brighton Presidency, Council Members, Senior Missionaries, and assistants, to meet camp needs and uphold high standards.

Assistant Program Coordinator (PC)

Salary: $7,400

Requirements

  • Brighton experience required

  • Must have at least one year of post-high school work, college, or mission

  • Requires patience and the ability to communicate effectively with others

  • Must be able to follow instructions from the Program Coordinator and camp leadership

Overview

  • Two Assistant Program Coordinators help the Program Coordinator to plan and organize an effective camp program for approximately 180 girls each week. Duties include planning fun and spiritual weekly camp activities. They assist with training and supporting the staff under the guidance of the Program Coordinator. They listen to and counsel with staff and campers who may need counsel and support working through any problems that may arise. They are also responsible for managing supplies, maintaining camp cleanliness, and other leadership duties, including teaching gospel-centered lessons and modeling positive values throughout the camp experience.
