Brighton Girls Camp
Brighton Girls Camp is a mountain adventure camp for all young women (ages 11-14) at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its purpose is to strengthen young women’s testimonies of Jesus Christ, and their identity as daughters of God.

As a counselor at Brighton Girls Camp, you will have a summer of purpose, connection, and fun in the tops of the mountains. You'll help teach, inspire, and walk alongside young women ages 12–13 for an unforgettable faith-filled camp experience. You will help guide them through activities that will grow their faith, strengthen their testimonies, and build confidence.

You’ll lead a group of 8–10 campers each week and help create a camp experience that’s safe, fun, meaningful, and unforgettable. You'll be part of a team that brings purpose to play and love to every moment—while singing songs, learning new skills, and finding new friendships.

Camp is fun, but it’s also sacred. You’ll laugh a lot, sing till you’re hoarse, and possibly cry. You’ll help girls who miss home, cheer on the shy ones, and be the reason someone feels seen and loved. And through it all, you’ll grow too—as a leader, a disciple, and a daughter of God.
Key Responsibilities

Follow the direction of program coordinators and camp leadership.

Take care of your group of 8–10 campers, making sure they feel safe, seen, and included.

Build connections through devotionals, guided activities, and meaningful conversations under the stars.

Teach short gospel lessons that help campers understand their divine identity.

Help girls see the hand of Jesus Christ in their lives through prayer, scripture, and shared testimony.

Promote unity within the camp among campers and staff.

Keep the group on schedule b following the camp’s daily program as outlined in the daily schedule.

First Aid Specialist
Salary: $6,300
This is a dual-role position

Some weeks you will work as a First Aid Specialist and other weeks you will work as a Counselor.

As a First Aid Specialist at Brighton Camp, you’re more than just the go-to for scraped knees and tummy aches—you’re a trusted, caring presence that helps campers and staff feel safe, seen, and supported, 24/7. Whether treating minor injuries, caring for homesick campers, or teaching a class, your presence brings peace of mind to staff, parents, and campers alike.

This role is part nurse, part comforter, part gospel teacher, part emotional support magician—and fully essential to the Brighton experience. You'll team up with another First Aid Specialist and rotate between this role and other camp duties throughout the summer.

You’ll cry with girls who miss home, cheer for them when they push through hard days, and help staff too. You’ll testify of Christ in both big and quiet moments. You’ll be trusted, appreciated, and remembered. This isn’t just a first aid role—it’s a chance to be a steady, loving presence in the lives of young women during a spiritually formative week.
Key Responsibilities

Keep the camp’s first aid station stocked, organized, and full of good vibes.

Provide first aid care for all minor injuries, aches, illnesses, and assess needs that campers (and staff) bring your way.

Comfort and support campers dealing with homesickness, stress, or "I-just-need-a-hug" moments.

Keep detailed records of all injuries, illnesses, and treatments.

Coordinate with Program Coordinators and Camp Nurses regarding camper health needs.

Teach campers about safety awareness, hygiene, hydration, and injury prevention.

First Aid & CPR Certification (required—you’re kind of a big deal).
Craft Specialist

Description:

As a Craft Specialist at Brighton, you'll help create more than just bracelets and banners—you’ll help create confidence, connection, and creativity in every camper that walks into the Craft Shack. Each week, you’ll work with about 180 amazing girls, guiding them through fun, hands-on craft projects while sharing meaningful conversations and building friendships that can last a lifetime. Throughout the summer, Craft Specialists rotate between their craft responsibilities and support staff roles—offering a diverse and meaningful camp experience—and that's part of the fun!

You'll not only lead engaging craft activities but also play a key role in spiritual development by helping teach gospel lessons to large camper groups. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creativity, connection, and a bit of leadership with their glitter. Whether you're teaching friendship bracelet weaving, encouraging a camper who's nervous about painting, or testifying of Christ during a quiet moment—you’re making magic happen every day.
Responsibilities: (What you’ll do.)

Plan and prepare fun, faith-friendly crafts that girls will love (and actually want to take home).

Show campers how to make each craft step-by-step—cheer them on, help them troubleshoot, and celebrate their creations!

Spark their imagination and help every camper feel proud of what she makes.

Make the Craft Shack a happy, welcoming place full of laughter, kindness, and creativity.

Work with Brighton Council Members to make sure the supplies stay stocked and the vibe stays fun.

Help count money from craft sales, balance the register, and prepare daily deposits.

Follow the direction of program coordinators and camp leadership

Organize and maintain the Craft Shack including; Ensuring all craft areas are clean, organized, and well-prepared, and inventory management.
