Brighton Girls Camp
Brighton Girls Camp is a mountain adventure camp for all young women (ages 11-14) at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, its purpose is to strengthen young women’s testimonies of Jesus Christ, and their identity as daughters of God.
Brighton Girls camp is known for serving delicious meals that make campers feel right at home. Favorites include our warm homemade sweet rolls, baked fresh and covered with cream cheese frosting, and our Dutch oven chicken - cooked to perfection in true mountain style over the coals! Most of the meals are prepared in our fully equipped commercial kitchen, which passes a rigorous inspection by the Utah Department of Health each year to ensure top safety and quality. The ingredients for our meals are supplied by US Foods. They also supply food to the top restaurants along the Wasatch Front. We serve meals that are tasty, well balanced, and nutritious!
We can accommodate gluten free, dairy free and vegan diets. These meals are prepared in a separate part of the kitchen, and are served individually to the campers who need them. If a special menu is needed, simply make a note of it on the Brighton application and a Council representative will contact you prior to camp. Other allergies will need to be addressed on an individual basis, including soy and nuts. We are NOT a nut-free camp. However, we do not include nuts in our meals. If you have an airborne allergy, we cannot guarantee complete “allergy-free” food, since all food is prepared in the same kitchen.
At Brighton Girls Camp, snacks are a fun and energizing part of each day. Counselors provide two daily snacks to keep campers fueled and happy, including favorites like granola bars and fresh apples. In addition, the Craft Shack offers its own selection of fun treats for purchase, giving campers a chance to enjoy something extra during their down time. (Link to craft shack snack list) For a simple, anytime option, campers love our always open peanut butter sandwich bar, ready whenever a quick snack or extra bite is needed. Together, these options ensure every girl has plenty of satisfying snacks throughout her stay! Campers may also wish to pack a few snacks to keep in their cabins.
